摘要：PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To maintain customary lock operation of a door keycylinder while preventing unlocking at the time of vehicle collision.SOLUTION: A latchassembly for a vehicle door includes a door key cylinder 19 of a vehicle door, an outerkey lever 16 for switching between a lock state and an unlock state of a lock mechanismby rotation around a shaft part 17, and a key rod 20 which transmits locking operationand unlocking operation of the door key cylinder 19 to the outer key lever 16. The outerkey lever 16 is configured to receive an inertia of rotation in the locking direction aroundthe shaft part 17 at the time of vehicle collision. The door key cylinder 19 has aconfiguration in which, when a key plate is rotated clockwise, the outer key lever 16 islock-rotated through the key rod 20. A cylinder lever 24 of the door key cylinder 19extends to a front side of the vehicle to which one end of the key rod 20 isconnected.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4
