摘要：The invention provides a combustion chamber arrangement for an internalcombustion engine which can attain a stabilized firing performance and a stabilizedcombustion performance during any load running of the engine. The combustionchamber arrangement includes a piston (1) having a combustion chamber (3) formed byrecessing a top portion (2) thereof along an axial direction, and a recessed portionformed by recessing a portion of a peripheral wall of the combustion chamber along adirection of the depth of the piston in a radially outward direction, whereby partially richmixture is produced within the recessed portion in order to improve the firing

performance while mixture of a suitable concentration is dispersed and distributed withinthe combustion chamber (3) so that flame produced within the recessed portion may bepropagated to the mixture within the combustion chamber (3).
