摘要：There is provided a process for the production of a detergent granulecomprising at least 40% by weight of an anionic surfactant and suitable for use as agranular detergent composition or a component thereof, which process comprises thesteps of (i) mixing an anionic surfactant precursor with a source of alkali to form aneutralised paste, (ii) adding alkali metal salt of a polycarboxylic acid, up to 5% by weightalkaline silicate, polycarboxylate polymer and sodium carbonate to form a slurry and (iii)spray-drying the obtained slurry to form a detergent granule having an amorphousphase content of more than 60% by weight, whereby the molar ratio of the alkali metalsalt of a polycarboxylic acid to sodium carbonate is in range of 0.4 to 1.6. There is alsoprovided a spray-dried detergent granule comprising at least 40% by weight of ananionic surfactant, alkali metal salt of a polycarboxylic acid, up to 5% by weight alkalinesilicate, polycarboxylate polymer and sodium carbonate and suitable for use as agranular detergent composition or a component thereof, obtainable by the process ofthe present invention.
