Advertisement can be a service to people. First， it is informative， and can help people buy and sell goods. Second， it can widen people‘s knowledge， and make people more experienced. Lastly， people can enjoy themselves through those programs which advertisements have been put into.（分条举例说明广告的益处。）

Some advertisements， however， are not very useful to people， sometimes even harmful. An advertisement like this， for example， may put thousands of women and girls into trouble. “Disillusioned with life， love， marriage？ You need help. Phone me.” And the Savior gives his phone number to his sheep.

In modern times， many advertisements are subjective rather than objective， persuasive rather than informative.（说理客观。） The only purpose of these advertisements is to persuade people to buy their poorly made products. I think people everywhere dream about having lots of money. I know I do. I would give

anything to make money hand over fist. I would like to earn large amounts of money. You could win a large amount of money in the United States through lotteries. People pay money for tickets with numbers. If your combination of numbers is chosen, you win a huge amount of money – often in the millions. Winning the lottery is a windfall.

A few years ago, my friend Al won the lottery. It changed his life. He did not have a rich family. He was not born with a silver spoon in his mouth. Instead, my friend was always hard up for cash. He did not have much money. And the money he did earn was chicken feed – very little.

Sometimes Al even had to accept hand-outs, gifts from his family and friends.?But do not get me wrong. My friend was not a deadbeat. He was not the kind of person who never paid the money he owed. He simply pinched pennies. He was always very careful with the money he spent. In fact, he was often a cheapskate. He did not like to spend money. The worst times were when he was flat broke and had no money at all.

One day, Al scraped together a few dollars for a lottery ticket. He thought he would never strike it rich or gain lots of money unexpectedly. But his combination of numbers was chosen and he won the lottery. He hit the jackpot. He won a great deal of money.

Al was so excited. The first thing he did was buy a costly new car. He splurged on the one thing that he normally would not buy. Then he started spending money on unnecessary things. He started to waste it. It was like he had money to burn. He had more money than he needed and it was burning a hole in his pocket so he spent it quickly.

When we got together for a meal at a restaurant, Al paid every time. He would always foot the bill, and pick up the tab. He told me the money made him feel like a million dollars. He was very happy.

But, Al spent too much money. Soon my friend was down and out again. He had no money left. He was back to being strapped for cash. He had spent his bottom dollar, his very last amount. He did not even build up a nest egg. He had not saved any of the money. I admit I do feel sorry for my friend. He had enough money to live like a king. Instead, he is back to living on a shoestring -- a very low budget. Some might say he is penny wise and pound foolish. He was wise about small things, but not about important things. People who are familiar with the chinese history should know that women's position is pretty low in all ages,especially in the feudal society.However,on October 1st,1949,Chairman Mao declared the birth of China,as a result,women's position has been greatly raised up to now.In my opinion,the equality between men and women is relativistic,real equality hasn't been realized completely. We can see from the daily life that lady first is always the principle,even though men are in a hurry to handle the affairs,they have to be the men of honour.Besiedes,as to say the jobs,those easy and well-paid jobs are always belong to the women,such as the guider,the secretary and so on,while men have to do the jobs which are both dirty and tiring.

In schools,boys and girls are also inequal as well.For example,girls can enter the boys' dormitory as they please,while boys not so that they have to register their names,with many eyes kept on them.

These phenomenons show that the equality between men and women is not really,and there exists a long ways for us to achieve the goal,but I believe that there will be someday in the future. Is Frustration a Bad Thing?

According to The New Oxford Dictionary of English, frustration, by definition, means the feeling of being upset or annoyed, especially because of inability to change or achieve something. Since frustration seems to be a negative feeling, some people may be tempted to think that frustration is bad for people. They believe that constant frustration may cause serious mental problems. People suffering from such psychological problems often resort to violence or suicide, which poses a big threat to the people around them and thus causes instability to the whole society.

Others, however, hold a different view. They maintain that it is beneficial to people. It goes side by side with success. It inspires people to overcome hardships and difficulties and achieve the final success. People with this view even go so far as to say that no frustration, no success. Indeed, we cannot always hope to embrace success and never accept failure. And most importantly, only if we learn from many a failure can we do things better and finally overcome such a bad feeling as frustration.

Frustration thus is part of our life experience. In our process of growing up, we may inevitably experience it when confronted with situations that don’t come up to our expectations. It is a test of our courage when it befalls us. If we let it control us, we may fall into the abyss of being inflicted by serious psychological problems. But if we harness it and take it as our source of inspiration, we may ultimately enjoy the glory of success.
