《月亮与六便士》英文读后感

《The Moon and Sixpence》

“I have an idea that some men are born out of their due place.Accident has cast them amid certain surroundings,but they have always a nostalgia for a home they know not.”This is the sentence in the book which I favourite--The Moon and Sixpence.My understanding of this sentence is :whenever we are ,no matter how old we are,we all have the right to pursue our dreams.

The hero of this novel called Strickland.He worked as a broker in a stock exchange and had happy family at the beginning.Yet he gave up all of those enviable issues including his children.Everyone thought he must be crazy.His wife and relatives suspected him of loving someone else.But he just made a decision that he would escape from his old life and become an artist.None understood him.Although he didn’t know how to draw.To everyone’s surprise,he succeeded at last.

The ground was cover with pennies,only he saw the moon.

I like the hero,and,I can understand him.He had been tired of the same life.Painting is his love,he was willing to give up everything to realize this dream.Maybe he was having a difficult time,but he was happy.That’s enough.Not everyone has his courage.
