DESCRIPTION

TheL7800seriesofthree-terminalpositiveregulatorsisavailableinTO-220ISOWATT220TO-3andD2PAKpackagesandseveralfixedoutputvoltages,makingitusefulinawiderangeofapplications.Theseregulatorscanprovidelocalon-cardregulation,eliminatingthedistributionproblemsassociatedwithsinglepointregulation.Eachtypeemploysinternalcurrentlimiting,thermalshut-downandsafeareaprotection,makingitessentiallyindestructible.Ifadequateheatsinkingisprovided,theycandeliverover1Aoutputcurrent.Althoughdesignedprimarilyasfixedvoltageregulators,thesedevicescanbeusedwithexternalcomponentstoobtainadjustablevoltagesandcurrents.
