摘要：A moldable composition and method of making the same, the compositionincluding a binding mixture and filler in the form of crystalline, irregular, approximatelypolygonally shaped particles. The binding mixture preferably includes polyvinyl-basedbinders such as polyvinyl alcohol, water, a cross-linking agent such as borax, and ahumectant such as propylene glycol. Furthermore, a cellulose-based thickener may beadded to the binding mixture, as may a pH-adjusting compound such as sodiumcarbonate. The crystalline particles preferably are ground styrene having a maximumdimension ranging from one-half to three millimeters.
