My Awesome Weekends!

Hi there! My name is Jessica and I'm 10 years old. I go to Oakwood Primary School. I love weekends because I get to do so many fun things! During the week, I have to wake up early for school and do my homework in the evenings. But on weekends, I can stay up late, sleep in, and just have a blast!

On Saturday mornings, my mom lets me watch cartoons in my pajamas while eating a big bowl of sugary cereal. I love that! After cartoons, I might go outside and play with my best friend Katie who lives next door. We like to ride our bikes around the neighborhood and pretend we're daring explorers on an epic adventure. Sometimes we bring our dolls or stuffed animals along for the ride too!

Other times on Saturdays, my dad takes me and my little brother to the park. We'll have a picnic lunch of sandwiches, chips, and juice boxes. Then we'll play on the swings, slides, and climb all over the jungle gym. I'm really good at going

super-duper high on the swing set! Once I even jumped off at the highest point and landed perfectly on my feet. My dad says I should join the circus as a flying acrobat when I grow up! After the park, if we have time, we might go to the ice cream shop and get big sundaes loaded with sprinkles and hot fudge. Yum! Sunday mornings are usually pretty chill. My family likes to sleep in late. For brunch, my mom will make her famous chocolate chip pancakes. They're the fluffiest, most delicious pancakes in the whole world! If the weather is nice, we'll eat our pancakes outside on our patio and listen to the birds chirping. After brunch, my dad and I will play catch in the backyard for a while. I'm getting really good and can throw the ball super fast and far nowadays! I hope I can try out for my school's softball team next year.

In the afternoons on Sundays, we'll either stay home and have a family movie marathon with popcorn or we'll go do something fun out of the house. Some of my favorite Sunday outings are going bowling (I have my own cool ball that's pink with sparkles!), visiting museums and learning about history and science stuff, or going shopping at the mall. I love trying on clothes and accessories at the stores. This weekend we're going

to see the new Disney movie that just came out. I can't wait! I already have my Elsa costume ready to wear.

My Super Fun Weekends

Hi there! My name is Timmy and I'm going to tell you all about the fun things I do on the weekends. Weekends are the best because there's no school and I get to stay up later than usual. I always look forward to Friday afternoon when I can finally go home and start my weekend!

On Saturday mornings, I love sleeping in. My mom lets me sleep as late as I want, unless we have something special planned for that day. When I eventually wake up, I head to the kitchen for a big bowl of my favorite cereal - Chocolate Blast Crunchies!

While watching cartoons, I take my time eating very slowly so the chocolatey milk lasts as long as possible. It's the best!

After breakfast, I'll play some video games for a little while. My favorites are the Super Mushroom Battle games where you get to be different characters like Mario, Luigi, Peach and Toad. I'm usually Luigi because he can jump super high. My little sister Emily likes to play too, but she's not very good yet. I try to help her but she gets frustrated easily.

Once I've had enough video games for the morning, I'll go outside to ride my bike or play catch with my dad. He's pretty good at throwing curve balls which make the ball hard to catch! If it's really nice out, we might have a picnic lunch in the backyard. Mom makes delicious sandwiches and we'll lay out a blanket near the pretty flowers. Sometimes our dog Buddy tries to steal food from our plates - he's silly!

The afternoons are my favorite part of the weekend. Pretty often, my friends Nathan and Jessie will come over and we'll come up with fun games to play. Last weekend, we decided to put on a backyard circus! Nathan was the ringmaster who introduced all the acts. I was a tightrope walker using the tree branch as my tightrope. Jessie did some cool gymnastics moves as the acrobat. We made signs for our circus out of poster board

and construction paper. Our little sisters were the circus clowns and did lots of goofy dances and tricks to make us laugh. It was so much fun!

Later we went inside for snacks and made a big mess with juice boxes and crackers all over. But we didn't care because moms understand that kids will be kids. We spent the rest of the day watching movies and looking through comic books until Nathan and Jessie had to go home for dinner.

Sundays are a little more relaxed. We go to church in the morning, which I don't love, but the kids' program is okay. We sing fun songs and listen to Bible stories. There are always good snacks too! Like animal crackers or little boxes of cereal. The real treat is going out for brunch after church. I always get the pancakes with whipped cream and strawberries. Yum!

Sunday afternoons, my family likes to go for walks around our neighborhood or to the park to feed the ducks. We'll bring bags of old bread or crackers to toss to the ducks paddling around the pond. They'll hurry right over and nibble up every last crumb! When we get home, I'll do my homework for the next week so it's out of the way. Math is my hardest subject but reading is a breeze.

Finally, we'll have a Sunday dinner as a family - usually a roasted chicken or beef with lots of tasty sides like potatoes and veggies. We'll talk about our weeks, watch a movie, and get ready for bed since it's a school night. Even though I get sad for the weekend to be over, I know another fun one is right around the corner! Weekends are the greatest!

My Awesome Weekends

Weekends are the best! I love when Friday comes around because it means no school for two whole days. I get so excited thinking about all the fun things I can do.

On Saturday mornings, I like to sleep in a little bit later than usual. My mom makes my favorite breakfast - pancakes with lots of syrup and some bacon on the side. After breakfast, I might play some video games or watch cartoons for a little while. But I don't like to stay inside too long when the weather is nice. If it's sunny outside, I go ride my bike around the

neighborhood. I have a cool red bike with hand brakes and I can go really fast. Sometimes my friends come over and we have races up and down the street. Other times we grab our scooters,

skateboards, and roller blades and head to the park. We ride the ramps at the skate park and do tricks over the jumps. It's so fun! In the afternoons, my dad sometimes takes me to get ice cream if I've been good that week. There's an ice cream shop not far from our house that has the most delicious flavors – my favorite is mint chocolate chip. If we don't go for ice cream, we might go to the mall and walk around instead. I love looking at all the stores and fun displays.

On Sundays, we usually go to church in the morning. I don't love having to get dressed up, but I like singing the songs and seeing my friends from Sunday school. After church, we often go out for a big family lunch. My favorite place is the pizza buffet because I can eat as much pizza as I want!

Later in the afternoon, we'll sometimes have family over to our house or go visit relatives ourselves. I have a lot of cousins, so when we all get together it's a huge crowd of kids. We run around outside playing tag or hiding games. Maybe we'll have a water balloon toss if it's hot out. No matter what, it's always really fun.

I sure do love weekends! There's so much fun stuff to do without any school or homework to worry about. I get to spend a lot of time with my family and friends. We play outside, eat treat

foods, and just have a great time. I wish weekends could last forever! But then I'd never want Monday to come so I could go back to school and learn new things. I guess two days is just the perfect amount of weekend.

My Awesome Weekends

Weekends are the best time ever! I love when Friday comes around because that means I get two whole days off from school. No more teachers, no more books, no more sitting at my desk all day long. It's freedom time!

On Saturdays, I like to sleep in as late as possible. My mom always tries to wake me up early, but I beg her to let me sleep until at least 10 o'clock. Once I'm up, I have a huge breakfast with pancakes, eggs, bacon, and orange juice. Yum! After that, it's plaaaaaytime!

I spend most of my Saturdays outside playing with my friends. We have the best games of inventive imagination. One minute we're superheroes fighting evil villains, the next we're brave explorers venturing into the jungle. My favorite is when we play pirate ship and get to sail the seven seas in search of buried treasure.

The park down the street is one of our prime hangout spots. They have the coolest jungle gym that we like to pretend is our secret fortress. We also play lots of games like tag, hide and seek, and red rover. I'm really fast so I hardly ever get caught in tag. My friend Tommy isn't so lucky though, he's always the first one out!

When we get hungry, we'll run back to our houses and have peanut butter and jelly sandwiches or leftover pizza for lunch. My mom makes the best lemonade too. After re-fueling, it's right back outside for more playing and adventures.

As the sun starts to set, we'll wind things down by playing casual games of kickball or just hanging out talking and joking around. Right before I have to go home for dinner, we always make plans for newly epic games to play the next day. A pirate's work is never done, after all!

Sundays are a bit more mellow. My family and I like to sleep in and then have a big breakfast together like Belgian waffles or omelets. Sundays are chore days so I have to clean my room and stuff. Bor-ing! But I try to get it done quickly so I can have the rest of the day for fun.

In the afternoon, we'll go do something fun as a family. Sometimes we go to the movies and I get my favorite snacks like

Sour Patch Kids and a big box of popcorn with extra butter. Other times we'll go bowling and I'll show off my crazy awesome bowling skills. I can even pick up the big heavy ball!

If the weather is nice, we'll pack a picnic and head to the park or beach. I love running around chasing birds and squirrels. We'll have yummy sandwiches and chips and then Popsicles for dessert. My dad always ends up chasing me around trying to get me all sticky and covered in Popsicle juice. So silly!

Once we get back home, I'll play some video games or maybe put on a play for my parents using my set of dress-up clothes and props. They always clap and cheer like I'm a famous actress. I feel like a superstar!

After dinner, we'll watch a movie together as a family all cuddled up on the couch in our pajamas. My mom and dad let me pick the movie and I always go for something with aliens, robots or talking animals. I eat lots of popcorn and candy during the movie until I eventually fall asleep before the ending. Then my dad has to carry me up to bed. He tucks me in, gives me a kiss on the forehead, and I'm out like a light sleeping away, already dreaming about my next weekend of awesome adventures and fun times.

Those are pretty much my weekends in a nutshell. School days are okay I guess, but the weekends are where it's at! I get to use my unbridled imagination and endless energy to fill my days with exciting escapades and quality time with my loved ones. A kid couldn't ask for anything more! I wish weekends could last forever.

My Weekend Fun

Last weekend was so much fun! On Saturday morning, I woke up early because I was very excited. My mom made my favorite breakfast - pancakes with syrup and banana slices. Yum! After eating, I got dressed quickly so I could go play outside. The weather was nice and sunny. I went to the park near my house with my best friend Tommy. We played on the swings and the slide for a long time. Tommy and I also played catch with his new baseball and mitt. His mitt is bright red which is my favorite color.

Later, my mom called me to come home for lunch. We had turkey sandwiches and baby carrots. After lunch, I went upstairs to my bedroom to play with my toys for a little while. I have so

many awesome toys! My favorite is my giant stuffed teddy bear. His name is Brownie and he's super soft and cuddly.

In the afternoon, the whole family went to my aunt and uncle's house. They have a swimming pool in their backyard! I put on my swimsuit and played in the pool for hours. I practiced swimming with my arm floats and even went underwater to see if I could open my eyes. The pool water was a bit cold but still really fun.

On Sunday morning, we had french toast for breakfast. My little sister kept spilling her milk but it was okay. After breakfast, my dad took me and my sister to the children's museum. I loved seeing all the science exhibits and watching the little puppet show. My sister's favorite was the big playground area.

For dinner, we ordered pizza from my favorite pizza place. I got pepperoni on my slices. My mom let me have two big slices because I was a good boy all weekend. Afterward, we watched a movie together as a family before my bedtime. I was a little sad that the weekend was over, but I got to make so many great memories! I can't wait for next weekend's adventures.

My Awesome Weekends!

Weekends are the best days ever! They are way better than school days because I don't have to wake up super early or do any homework. Yay! On Saturdays and Sundays, I get to do all my favorite things and have loads of fun.

Most weekend mornings, I sleep in until I wake up on my own. My mom lets me because she knows I stay up late on Fridays watching movies or playing video games. Once I'm up, I have a big breakfast like pancakes, waffles, or french toast. My dad makes the fluffiest scrambled eggs too. Mmm!

After breakfast, I head outside to play. I love being outdoors instead of stuck inside at school all day. Sometimes I ride my bike around the neighborhood with my friends. We pretend we're racers and see who can go the fastest. Other times, we play basketball, soccer, or kickball in the park near my house. I'm super active and athletic so I don't like just sitting around. If the weather is nice, my family might go on a little

adventure like a hike or to the beach. Hiking is awesome because you get to be in nature and see cool plants, trees, birds and stuff. The beach is always a blast too! I dig big holes, build sandcastles, and splash in the waves. After being at the beach all day, I'm pooped but really happy.

On rainy days, I have to find indoor activities which isn't as fun. But I still manage to stay busy and not get bored. My favorite thing is when my parents let me have friends over for a sleepover! We eat pizza, candy, and junk food, watch movies, play video games, and stay up all night telling stories and goofing around. Sleepovers are an epic weekend treat. Other times on rainy days, I read books, draw/color, play board games with my family, or we all bake yummy snacks together. My dad taught me how to make his signature chocolate chip cookies. They're the best!

No matter what I do, weekends are the highlight of my week. I can relax, not stress about school, and just be a kid having a blast. I wish there were more weekend days and fewer school days. But I guess I'll just have to patiently wait for the next Saturday and Sunday to roll around so I can play, play, play once again! Weekends rule!
