摘要：The present invention relates to a security element () for securing valuablearticles, having a first optically active layer () that is present at least in some areas andcomprises a cholesteric liquid crystal material. According to the present invention, a
second optically active layer () that is present at least in some areas is provided, the firstand the second layer () being stacked in an overlap area. Here, the first optically activelayer () selectively reflects light in a first wavelength range having a first circularpolarization direction, and the second optically active layer (), either itself or, in theoverlap area, in coaction with the first optically active layer (), selectively reflects light in asecond wavelength range having a second direction of circular polarization.
