News media also shapes our minds to understand each other's cultural values and perspectives. News media have a profound impact on cultures. It causes to eliminate(消除) the boundaries of cultures among people and creates globalization. The globalization is a good instance(事件) to depict(刻画) the effect of news media because individuals now can see what is happening in other countries. Also, media brings all of us at a single platform where we learn about multicultural aspects.

So, the vital impact of media cannot be disregarded. For example, in a multi-cultural city like Toronto, media plays a prominent(重要的) role in unifying people from different nations. Firstly, almost all of us use some sort of media to get updated about the world. In fact, for many of us, a day starts with some kind of news app on our mobile phone so as to get the latest information.

But on the opposite side, since media persons are highly revered, accordingly, we truly trust the information we receive from media. For example: during the world war II, Hitler used the German media to spread false news about atrocities over

German people living in other European countries to mentally prepare everyone in Germany to gear up for war.

Another point to consider is that the media itself exists to make profit. With hundreds of news channels all competing for viewers, it is conceivable(可想而知的) that some news could be exaggerated(夸张的) or even fabricated(杜撰的) for some purposes.

In conclusion, I believe media is having a tremendous impact on people's mind and perspectives. Althoughthe news media is vital to our daily life, we should aware of the undeniable ill effect caused by the news media.
