Teaching Aims: Knowledge:

1.To highlight and make use of special sentence structure.

2.To grasp usages of some important words and expressions. 3. Finish different tasks according to what they heard. Abilities:

1.To employ key phrases and sentences flexibly. 2.To improve students’ listening skills.

3.To develop students’ good habit of listening. Emotion:

1.To build up correct concept of doing outdoor activities.

2.To prepare students for future challenges or difficulties in their lives. Teaching Importance:

1.To grasp the usages of key phrases and sentences. 2.To polish up the skills of listening. Teaching Difficulties:

1.To deal with some language points.

2.To improve their listening comprehension.

Teaching Methods: Listening and saying, reading and writing. Teaching Aids: Multi-media computer, power point. Teaching Procedures: Step 1 Warm up.

1、 Introduce myself.

I’m from Dafeng.I am very happy to be here to share this class with

you.I’m an English teacher in Sanlong Middle School. I like playing basketball

very much. On Wednesday and Saturday afternoon,I always take some water and my mobile phone to the basketball court. I never take any food ,I think it’s bad to eat things when we are doing sports.But my son likes flying kites ,when the kite is flying in the sky, he feels very excited. 同时在黑板上写下mobile phone \\excited 并教学。 2、 Ask the students: What about you?

What outdoor activity do you often do? What can you do there ? What can’t you do there ? What should we take ?

Look at these outdoor activities. Ask the students to have a short free talk in pairs. 3、 Listen to the radio ,then read it out in groups. 2、 Make up a new conversation in pairs.

意图:通过我本人的自身介绍,直接引入语境并讲授两个本节课相关新单

词。先让学生进行一个短对话,为后面作铺垫。通过讲述我儿子喜欢放风筝,为后面话题的引出埋下伏笔。Speak up部分提到这里这里解决,能将导入部分充实,直奔主题,给学生更多的参与时间和空间,达到畅所欲言。 Step 2 Practice

1、 Presentation

Show some pictures to the students.Let’s share these kites together.

( 1 ) Are they beautiful? ( 2 ) Do you like them?

( 3 ) What does it look like? It looks like a square

( 4 ) What is a kite made of ? They are made of bamboo、paper、wood etc. ( 5 ) Where is it made ? It’s made everywhere.But the most famous place

of making kites in China is in Weifang, Shandong Province.Weifang has a history of making kites for over 500 years.此时,适当补充点相关etc及时板书出现的新知识,如:wood , plastic ,be made of/from , square,province等。结合语境为学生解释,如:This part of the kite is made of wood.Look around our classroom.Your desks are made of wood too. 2、 Practice.

There are four kites here.They are Amy’s and her friends’.They are discussing whose they are. Listen to their conversation. Write the students’ names under their kites. 问:

What does the first kite look like? It looks like a bird. What does the second kite look like? It looks like a plane. What does the third kite look like? It looks like a fish. What does the fourth kite look like? It looks like a square.

3、 Listen and finish . Students listen to the radio,then complete it. Ask some students to say out their answers.

意图:做听力前,先学习我提供的四个风筝,了解风筝的不同形状,不同制作材料以及风筝的历史。为后面的继续学习作铺垫,激发学生的学习兴趣。 Step 3 Presentation

Amy is interested in kites now. She wants to know more about the history of kites. Try to find something about the four men. Let’s help her.

1、 Give four cards to four teamleaders and ask him to write down the events about the man. Team members can help them. 2、 Show the pictures to the students and ask them to say more about them. (1) About Mozi :

Ask the students:Do you know who he is ? Anything about him? He was a thinker,an educationist,a scientist and a militarist . He made a kite out of wood in the Warring States period. ( 2 ) About Lu Ban:

Ask the students:Do you know anything about him? He was a student of Mozi.

He used bamboo to make kites. He was the best carpenter in history. ( 3 ) About Cai Lun.

He was an inventor.He invented paper making. ( 4 ) About Marco Polo.

He was a traveller and a businessman.

意图:对于四个主人公的学习,先让学生尽量的猜,一方面检查预习效果,二是为后面的听力教学打下基础,输入相关知识储备。发下去的四张卡片,一是为了帮助学生记录要点,二是最后总结时的关键道具。 Step 4 Practice

1、 Mr Wu is telling Amy about the history of kites. Listen to his talk. Match each person with the correct event. Write the letters in the boxes. Play the radio,students complete it .

2、 Ask four students to describe one history character so that I can check if they are right.

( 1 )Mozi made a bird out of wood. ( 2 )Lu Ban used bamboo to make kites.

( 3 )Cai Lun found a new way to make paper.

( 4 )Marco Polo told people in the west all about kites.

3、 Try to complete Part A3 Millie’s article with the information you’ve got from A2.Then check together.Perhaps there are four blankets they can’t finish. Play again.Then check again.Then ask several students to read it out. 4、 Read after the tape.

5、 Answer the following questions.

( 1 ) When did the Chinese begin to make kites? ( 2 ) What did Mozi do in the Warring States period? ( 3 ) What did Lu Ban use to make a kite?

( 4 ) What did Cai Lun do for the development of kites?

( 5 ) When Marco Polo went back to his country, what did he tell people in the west? ( 6 ) In the Ming and Qing dynasties,what became a very popular outdoor activity?

( 7 ) Which province became famous for making kites from then on?

意图:本节课压轴全部在此,但通过前面的知识积累,此时也没有了神秘的面纱。听力材料的再现,让学生尽情释疑,顿时产生恍然大悟的感觉,而第5部分的问答部分更是检查了学生实情。 Step 5 Summary

1、 Get back the four cards and spell out a kite.

2、 Draw out three colourful ribbons of the kite and write History ,Shape, Material in them .

3、 Put up Amy and Shirley under the kite.

4、 At the same time ,the background music plays.

意图:回顾本节课内容,四个人物的事迹,关于风筝的制作材料、各种各 样的形态、风筝历史三个方面再现,巩固本节课所学。 Step 6 Homework

1. Talk about the history of kites with your friends after class. 2. Try to find more ways of outdoor safety on the Internet. 3. Read more about the history of kites.
