What I Did Last Sunday

Last Sunday was a really fun day for me! I got up pretty early, around 7:30am. My mom made pancakes for breakfast, which are my favorite. After I finished eating, I went outside to play some basketball by myself for a little while. The weather was so nice - sunny and warm, but not too hot. Just perfect basketball weather!

Around 10am, my best friend Jeremy came over. We played some more basketball together for a couple hours. Jeremy is really good at basketball. He's on the school team and

everything. I'm not quite as good as him, but I can definitely hold my own. We were getting pretty sweaty from running around so much!

For lunch, Jeremy's mom called and said she was going to pick him up to go to his grandma's house for a family thing. So he had to go, but that was okay because my family had plans too. We all got in the car and drove over to my aunt and uncle's house. They live about half an hour away in the country. When we got there, my two cousins Tyler and Emma were already outside playing. Tyler is 8 and Emma is 10, so we're all

pretty close in age. My uncle had set up badminton and croquet in the backyard. First we played badminton. I was on a team with Emma against Tyler and my aunt. My team won the first game but then we got really competitive and played like 5 more games! It was a tie in the end.

Next we set up the croquet course. I'll be honest, I'm not really sure I understand all the rules of croquet. But it's still fun to whack that ball through the little arched wickets. This game took a really long time because we kept losing balls in the bushes and having to look for them. But no one really cared because we were just laughing and having a good time.

Around 3pm, we finally came inside and my aunt had made a huge spread of food for us. There were burgers, hot dogs, potato salad, corn on the cob, watermelon, and so much more. We were all starving after playing outside all day so we dug right in. Everything was delicious!

After we ate, all the kids went upstairs to my cousins' playroom while the adults stayed downstairs to visit. We played some board games up there for a while. Then we got tired of that and put on a mini circus show for our parents! Emma was the ringmaster. I was a clown and did some silly dances and magic tricks (that weren't really magic at all). Tyler pretended to be a

lion tamer and used stuffed animals as the lions. At the end, we all bowed as our parents clapped for us.

Finally around 6pm, we had to leave and drive back home. I was exhausted from my super fun-filled day! As soon as I got home, I put on my pajamas and relaxed on the couch. My parents ordered pizza for dinner, so I didn't even have to wait for them to cook something.

Overall, it was one of the best Sundays I've had in a long time. I loved spending time with my cousins and best friend. Getting to run around outside in the nice weather was awesome too. Sundays are the best because you don't have any school or homework to worry about. You can just have fun all day long. I wish every day could be as great as last Sunday!
