First and foremost, the government should vigorously develop the public transportation system. More buses, subways, trains and other vehicles should be put into use, and reducing the expenses people spend on transit. If the public vehicles are efficient and convenient enough, most people prefer to choose that rather than buy private cars. Second, government should increase the difficulty of driver’s license examination. Will you persist in buying a car if you have failed several times in driver’s license examination? Last but not least, the expense of buying and running a car can be raised. If the motorist is faced with a high purchase price, high road tax, high insurance premiums and substantial fines he or she may reconsider the purchase.
In conclusion, a number of cars indeed have a great harm to our society. It is high time that we made a change of protecting ourselves against the harm of the car.
