Unit 1

My new flat is on the fifth floor. It’s not big but very comfortable. I have a bedroom of my own. I can read books, draw pictures and listen to music there. I also like the balcony because I like growing flowers. Every morning, I like taking exercise on the balcony. My parents like watching TV in the living room every night. My family all like the new flat very much. Unit 2

The social workers in our community centre are ready to help. They meet there and share their different skills. They help us with all kinds of problems. For example, they can fix our bicycles. They can check our computers. They can help us with our homework. At the weekend, they always visit the old people and do some shopping for them. We’re lucky to have a community centre like that. My hometown is beautiful and quiet. The air is fresh. It’s a good place to live. There’s a big farm. People raise cows and grow corn there. There’re green trees and flowers all over in the town. We can hear the birds sing and smell the flowers. People here are friendly and helpful. Soon, there’ll be a large shopping mall. I hope you can come and visit my hometown. Unit 4

My birthday is coming, I am going to have a party at one o’clock next Wednesday afternoon at home. I would like to invite you to the party. My home is at Room 302 in Sunshine Building. You can take a No, 10 bus and get off at Wanda shopping mall. Cross the road at the traffic light. Walk straight on and take the second turning on the right. You’ll see Sunshine Building on your left. I’m looking forward to seeing you at the party. Test One

My Hometown

Wuxi is a beautiful modern city. It lies to the south of Changjiang River. Wuxi is famous for Taihu Lake. There’re millions of visitors from different countries every year. People here are friendly and helpful. There are all kinds of delicious food. There will be underground in the near future. It’s cheap and fast. Wuxi museum is a good place to go if you want to know more about Wuxi. Unit Five

Last Friday, our class went to visit the Funny World Museum on foot. I saw a small monkey, only 11 centimetres tall. I also learned about some other strange things. I know we live in a wonderful world and it is full of a lot of amazing things. We spent two and a half hours in it. I took a lot of photos. We came back to school at about 2 o’clock in the afternoon. We had a great time. Unit Six

It was Saturday the day before yesterday. It was sunny. My family and I went camping by bus. We put up a tent near the lake. My cousin and I were very excited. We rowed a boat and then we went to fly a kite. My father drew a nice picture and my mother cooked delicious food for us. We stayed outside over the night. I will never forget the trip, and I hope we can go there again soon. Unit Seven

Jim is hard-working and good at all subjects. He does most of the class work quickly and well. At the age of six, he started to learn to play the piano. When he’s free, he often visits an old people’s home and plays for the old. He is ready to take part in all social activities. He always collects books and raises money to help children in the west of China. Overall, Jim is a suitable student for the award.

Tom’s home is at the foot of a hill. The air is fresh. Every day, people can smell flowers and hear birds singing. Walk through the wood, and you will see a house with two floors. Tom’s bedroom is on the second floor. His family grow wheat and corn. They also raise a cow. The cow is strong and helps do farm work. It’s Tom’s best friend. I hope to move there with my parents and enjoy the life there.
